Ethan Allen (priest)

Born in Plymouth County, Massachusetts in 1796,〔Middlebury college at http://middarchive.middlebury.edu/cdm/ref/collection/archadmin/id/5062 stating Braintree or East Bridgewater but Hobart Smith stating Plymouth, the county encompassing Bridgewater but Braintree being in Norfolk county〕 Ethan Allen was a grandson of the Puritan John Alden Allen and cousin of the famous revolutionary of the same name. Raised in the Congregational Church, Allen graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont in 1818.
